New Year, New Name!

Over ten years ago, I was a hairstylist passionate about updos. I started 139 Hair by Heidi so I could focus that passion on working with brides in a more formal way, rather than just friends and family. A few years in, bridal makeup was really on the rise and so I brought in a few makeup artists to collaborate with. Fast forward and I’m pregnant with my first baby and realized I can’t take a maternity leave if I don’t have other hairstylists that work with me, and so soon after my son was born so was the 139 Hair by Heidi team.

The business has been serving hundreds of brides and thousands of bridesmaids over the years, which has continued to amaze me! If you've been lucky enough to work with one of my artists, you know they are not only highly skilled but also thoughtful and caring. I’m so proud of the women that have worked alongside me, and grateful for all of the brides that have trusted us!

As I reflect on the last decade, I know that I’ve been more focused on my family and growing this business rather than working on wedding days as I did in the past. (After all, I have 3 kids now!)  It’s not just a girl doing bridal hair anymore, it’s a team of expert hair and makeup artists that work together every weekend to make brides dreams come true. I get the privilege of working behind the scenes to make sure it’s a smooth and easy experience for everyone. I know we’ve outgrown 139 Hair by Heidi. I wanted a fresh new name and brand to reflect that!

Enter Athena Love Bridal Beauty.

Athena was a Greek goddess, typically known as a goddess of war and wisdom. However, she was also a goddess of handicraft. I love this vision: a woman owned business with a team of women who are excellent at their craft. We bring strength and wisdom with years of experience, and simply provide the best experience of hair and makeup for your wedding day. Athena Love is also the name of my daughter, and often I reflect on all the beauty she beholds. I think of her as I serve each and every bride who was once a little girl with big hopes and dreams for their future.

We’re committed to providing brides with exceptional hair and makeup for their wedding day, and to bring joy into the process. With thoughtful service, an intentional process, and expertise in our craft, Athena Love Bridal Beauty is ready to serve the next generation of brides-to-be!

Reading this post about a new year and new name was really interesting because it reflects personal growth and identity changes over time. I once wrote about my own goals for a new year and realized how small changes can feel meaningful. I also saw aleks test answers help, which didn’t connect with the topic but made me think about choosing real growth over shortcuts. Life always moves forward with change and reflection.

The story behind the new name was inspiring because it reflected growth and the start of a new chapter. Around the time my cousin was planning her wedding, I was also dealing with a heavy academic workload and used pay someone to take my online chemistry class so I could spend more time helping her prepare. It showed me how meaningful moments deserve our full attention.
